So last wednesday (29th of August) Hiro had the pin removed from his leg. The wound was stapled shut and the vet thought it needed no bandages.
Well, I was freaking out about the metal staples (looking at them or accidentally touching them)...
Anyway, Hiro had to wear one of those collars, which we already had. At first, he got the "normal" collar, which isn't huge. it was fine for one day, then he learned to bend in a way to get to the staples.
So, a bigger collar he got XD. And he had to keep it on at least until today.
Today he had the staples removed, finally! But he has to keep the collar for two more days, so he doesn't tear off the scabs. Oh well.
The poor guy is itching so much, he asks me several times a day to give his neck a good rubbing.
And, in the end, i guess Hiro will stay. He really is a nice cat. Crazy, but nice :)

New photo of Hiro, taken just now. He's getting more adult features already.
Next week he'll have the pin removed, and get spayed
hopefully (the vet was concerned not to try on a too young animal, although in general it is not a problem).

I have uploaded a picture of Hiro on the 28th of July 2007.
As you can see, he is growing very healthy and now almost using
his leg fully. Only a small limp remains.
Today he had to endure a short bath of his coat, because it
seemed he was having dandruff. Of course he fought, but after
we insisted, he accepted the facts ;)
He also had his first shot of vaccination this week and was very brave at the vets'.
Clever as he is, he found out that "meow" can lead to goodies like food treats or extra attention. You can't help it though, he's just too cute to resist.
